We're all going going through uncertain times as the coronavirus health crisis continues to change the world we live in.
At Resolute Legal, not only do we embrace change but we strive to be innovative leaders. This means that right now, while new challenges arise almost daily, we continue to work towards solutions for our clients. While our number one concern is the health and safety of our employees and our community, we are still able to make sure you are set up for success with your disability claim during these uncertain times.
We are taking extra measures to make sure Resolute Legal clients and community have access to the resources and information they need most right now. Below are some of the ways we are here to help you through this. Please know that our virtual door is always open and if you have questions , feel free to reach out to us at any time.
We've had no changes in our day-to-day operations or to our team during the COVID-19 pandemic. Even before the pandemic, Resolute Legal embraced remote work and serving clients by distance. Over 90% of our team already worked remotely, so it was easy to have everyone else move to remote work as well. So for us, the transition to a 100% virtual workplace was seamless and caused little disruption. We are still here for you, just as before.
We recently published The Ultimate Guide to COVID-19, Sick Leave, and Disability Benefits to keep you up-to-date on how the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting all types of disability claims. We update this guide weekly, so you can check back to see the effect that new developments will have on disability claims with government programs or insurance companies.
We continue to offer free webinars to teach you how to best transition to going on sick leave and applying for disability benefits. We have expanded these webinars to cover a range of COVID-19 related issues as they apply to disability claims.
Resolute Legal continues to sponsor and moderate the best online forum for disability claims in Canada: The Canadian Disability Claim Forum. We are proud of this community and the support that forum members provide to existing members and newcomers alike. In the forum, you can receive real support and advice from others who are in the same situation as you. Our lawyers moderate the forum and deal with any legal questions that arise. We highly encourage you to check it out.
We publish a weekly newsletter — The INSIDER — that includes a roundup of our new content and any updates to our existing content or guides. We use this newsletter to communicate with our community. Joining this newsletter is your best way to stay up to date on everything related to COVID-19 and disability claims.
Resolute Legal has always been a leader in transforming how lawyers get things done. Our founder was among the first lawyers in Canada to use the court process to force other lawyers and insurance companies to accept electronic and PDF documents rather than paper documents. We have operated as a virtual law firm for many years. Given the new restrictions on in-person meetings, we are having success with convincing other lawyers and insurance companies to embrace video conferencing and other remote tools to allow disability claims to move forward. Our clients cases are not at a stand-still. We continue to submit appeals and negotiate settlements.
We urge you to follow all official recommendations to stay at home and stay safe. We're all affected by this crisis in one way or another, and we are thinking of everyone in our community during this time.
